Berkshire Bulldogs: a kids basketball trials week, packed out.

A community basketball club that never turns a kid away needed local families to know it existed. We made sure tens of thousands of Berkshire parents did. Then we helped its owner get his time back.

The situation

The situation

Berkshire Bulldogs run kids basketball across Bracknell, Ascot, Egham and Lightwater, with teams from under-10s to under-16s and a simple rule: no kid gets turned away. The coaching was brilliant. The leak was that too few local families knew the club was there.

What we did

What we did

✓

Consistent Instagram built around the players, the parents and the coaches. Real kids, real sessions, no stock.

✓

One trials campaign with a cold-to-warm structure: five weeks warming up local parents, then a retargeting push at the families who had shown interest.

✓

Five creatives, four video and one carousel, made from the club’s real sessions.

✓

An organic countdown running on Instagram alongside the ads, so the feed and the ads told one story.

What happened

What happened

The trials campaign reached 81,390 local parents, served over 160,000 impressions and sent 2,163 people to the booking page. Trials week arrived packed, with sessions at capacity across all four venues and bookings from families the club had never reached before.

The everyday feed keeps it going. In September 2026 daily views went from under 1,000 to over 5,000, with 38,992 views in 30 days and 90.5% of them from people who did not follow the club yet. Free trial sign-ups are now coming in through Instagram.

“They took the time to understand our business, our coaches, and our community, creating content that actually feels authentic to us. The trials week campaign alone brought in bookings from parents we’d never reached ourselves.”

03 Free up the owner

Once local families were finding the club, a second leak showed up. This one was the owner’s time.

The second leak

The second leak

Jake Thomas runs the club. It grows through partnerships with local schools, and those come down to Jake. Meeting a school and building that relationship is the part only he can do.

A lot of his week was going on admin instead, and on working out which schools were worth approaching.

What we did

What we did

Jake built this one himself. Our job was to show him how.

✓

We showed Jake how we run Scale Studios on Claude, and how it could learn his club the same way.

✓

We sat down together, went through his week and picked out where it could take work off him.

✓

Jake built it, with us on hand for tips as he went.

✓

Claude now knows the club inside out. It handles a lot of the admin, and it researches which local schools are the right fit.

✓

Meeting the schools stays with Jake.

What happened

What happened

Since Jake started using Claude, the club has signed 8 more schools.

A lot of his admin now gets done for him. That time goes on the schools and the families instead.

Some owners want this built for them. Jake wanted to build it himself, so we worked alongside him.
